Pre-Civil War first issue of New York’s militia code, printed at Albany by Weed, Parsons & Co. and promulgated under General Orders No. 30 (April 6, 1858) by Adjutant-General Frederick Townsend. The engraved title/frontis is present, as is the “Property of the People of the State of New-York” leaf. Includes the Appendix with the U.S. Articles of War. Period half-leather over marbled boards with gilt-ruled spine.
