Boyd’s studio, imprint “713 Front Street, Seattle.” The Front Street address predates the 1895 renaming to 1st Avenue, which helps date this image to the early 1890s. The soft vignette and matching three-piece suits suggest a formal sitting-very likely a father with his adult son-a classic family pairing from the period.
