Description
Original early 20th-century luxury excursion ticket from the Compagnia Napoletana di Navigazione for the classic tourist route from Sorrento to Capri, Grotta Azzurra / Blue Grotto, and return to Naples.
This is a wonderful piece of Italian travel and maritime ephemera, apparently validated October 18, 1913. The ticket is marked “Linea di Lusso,” or Luxury Line, with fare printed as L. 35,00, and the reverse includes passenger notices in Italian, French, German, and English. The multilingual text reflects the international tourist appeal of Capri and the Blue Grotto during the Grand Tour/Belle Époque travel era.
