Description

Original 1933 Hartford, Connecticut U.S. postal card with green imprinted 1¢ Jefferson (Scott UX27) indicium-machine-cancelled Nov 9, 1933 and bearing a purple NRA “We Do Our Part” eagle at left. Addressed by typewriter to William H. Bacon, Wethersfield, Conn. The reverse is a charming advertising solicitation for Tuckel Radio, 1237 Main St., Hartford with a hand-drawn console radio and message offering a “complete check-up,” phone 2-8568. Correct 1¢ postcard rate for 1933. Locally uncommon as a Hartford radio-service ad card with NRA marking; I did not find this exact Tuckel Radio variety currently on eBay when researched.
