Description

Offered for parts or restoration is this vintage Tavannes wristwatch from the 1940s, featuring a classic Art Deco rectangular design in durable stainless steel. The case back is machine-etched with reference number 8390-367. The original dial is marked “Tavannes,” “Shock Absorber,” and “Swiss,” and includes a sub-seconds dial positioned at 6 o’clock.

This is a manual wind watch that is being sold as-is, untested, without a strap. It is ideal for collectors, watchmakers, or restoration specialists. The stainless steel case shows no plating wear and retains excellent vintage integrity. During the 1940s, Tavannes was at the forefront of waterproof case technology, and this design reflects their innovation. Many examples from this era suffer from water damage, making well-preserved cases like this more difficult to find.

Please note: the watch is not currently running, and no attempt has been made to service or open the movement. It is being sold for parts, display, or professional restoration only. A rare opportunity to own a piece of Swiss horological history.
