Small WWII patriotic cover (~5.5″ x 3″) sent as Soldier’s Free Mail with manuscript “Free.” Cancelled U.S. Army Postal Service, APO 253, SEP 28, 1943-an early United Kingdom (Wincanton, England) usage for APO 253 (3rd Armored Division period). Bold boxed “Passed by U.S. Army Examiner” censor marking at left. Striking left-side cachet reads “Ready … Aim … Fire … / Remember Pearl Harbor” with crosshair motif showing three enemy figures-an uncommon design that really pops.
