Description

Wartime patriotic cover franked with the 3¢ Win the War stamp (Scott 905), cancelled Green Bay, Wisconsin – SEP 15, 1944. The printed cachet reproduces the Richmond Times-Dispatch editorial cartoon titled “ADOLF’S GENEROSITY”-a striking home-front piece addressed to Pharm. J. N. Laurence, Naval Hospital Staff, San Diego 34, California. Newspaper-cartoon cachets were produced in small numbers; this design is seldom seen and makes a compelling addition to WWII patriotic or editorial-cartoon collections.
