Description
Beautiful framed modernist still life painting, attributed to Aage Christian “Jack” Wiboltt, a Danish-American artist active in Denmark and Southern California. The work is signed lower right, with the signature appearing to read “A. C. Wiboltt,” a documented signature form associated with the artist.
The composition shows a bowl of dark fruit or vegetables beside a pale pitcher, set before a deep blue coastal background with a small sailboat on the horizon. The flattened forms, dark outlines, moody palette, and decorative modernist handling make this an especially appealing small-format work.
Key points:
* Attributed to Aage Christian “Jack” Wiboltt, Danish-American, 1894-1952
* Signed lower right, appearing to read “A. C. Wiboltt”
* Modernist still life with coastal / seascape background
* Framed size approximately 18″ x 11″
* Scarce listed-artist attribution with limited public market availability
* Wiboltt studied in Copenhagen and later worked in Los Angeles as a painter, muralist, illustrator, and modernist artist
* Attractive vintage framing with linen-style mat presentation
The painting is offered as attributed, not as a formally authenticated catalogued example. The reverse has older backing and wire, consistent with long-term framing, with expected age wear to the backing and frame. The artwork presents very well and has strong decorative and collector appeal.
