Description
Original 1939 photogravure bifolium from Verve Vol. II, Nos. 5-6 (the special double number directed by Tériade). The leaf presents a powerful Edgar Allan Poe portrait (after Mathew Brady studio), a dramatic double-page street-scene spread (credit line printed in the issue; see photos), and a classic Ingres studio portrait by Nadar. Removed intact as issued; not a modern reproduction. Clean, richly inked images with light, even perimeter toning typical of Verve. Center fold preserved; inner (gutter) margins retained. Ships flat in archival materials.
