Scarce signed artist book by German ZERO-group artist Günther Uecker, published in Cologne by Verlag der Zeitschrift “Symbol” Wolfgang Wangler, c.1983. The book documents Uecker’s “kölnisch – klause – (phobien)” project and includes text and reproductions from this important early-1980s body of work. Uecker has boldly signed the half-title page in graphite, making this copy especially desirable for collectors of post-war German art and ZERO material.

Condition: Black cloth boards with noticeable sun-fading to the spine and upper portions of the covers; tips and edges with light shelf wear. Original red wrap band present with creasing and a small tear at the lower front corner and light surface marks. Interior pages are clean and bright with no writing or highlighting beyond the artist’s signature; binding sound. Overall a solid, collectible copy of a hard-to-find Uecker artist book, enhanced by the bold signature and presence of the fragile wrap band.
