Description
Offered is an original, one-of-a-kind hand-drawn ink cartoon sketch by Jerry Iger, signed and personally inscribed with a good-luck New Year message dated 1960: “To Michi – with a horseshoe & a prayer for 1960.” This is a charming piece of Golden Age comics history with clear period character work, a bold autograph, and fun embedded design details (including the hidden “M” and “K” worked into the faces).
Highlights and collector points:
*
Original ink sketch on paper (not a print or reproduction)
*
Signed “Jerry Iger” with a personalized, dated 1960 inscription
*
Clever hidden initials: M formed in the upper character’s eyebrows; K formed in the lower character’s nose
*
Includes “PEE / WEE” notation and a small child character head, a nice nod for Iger / gag-cartoon collectors
*
Strong display appeal for Golden Age comics and creator-signature/original-art collectors
Condition notes (please see photos):
*
Age toning throughout, consistent with vintage paper
*
Scattered surface soiling/staining, heavier near the lower-right area (front and reverse)
*
Small dog-ear crease at one corner that has been flattened back
*
Reverse is otherwise blank aside from expected show-through from the front artwork
