Description
Original double-sided photogravure (heliogravure) leaf from Verve Vol. II, Nos. 5-6 (July-Oct. 1939), Paris (director: TĂ©riade). Recto shows Atelier d’Aristide Maillol, Paris (studio view); verso presents a geometric figure after Giovanni Battista Bracelli from his 1624 series Bizzarie di varie figure. Printed on fine wove paper in rich black ink. Removed from the binding with the inner (gutter) margin and sewing nicks preserved; untrimmed with light, even age toning. Ready to mat and frame; note that only one side displays at a time.
