Description
Signed Six Nations Mohawk Pottery miniature bud vase in classic red earthenware with a green-glazed interior. The hand-incised base reads “Mohawk Pottery” and shows a turtle and bird pictograph plus the form number 8. Crisp relief carving in geometric panels wraps the body; the rim shows the traditional arc motif associated with mid-late 20th-century Six Nations work. Stands about 3.7 in tall. A handsome, well-made example from the influential Mohawk pottery revival centered at the Six Nations of the Grand River in Ontario.
