The Bibliophilist Society produced this uncommonly seen American edition with careful attention to detail. It includes a distinctive cloth spine with gilt titling, uncut fore-edges, and a top-edge tinted a lovely light pink-a subtle variation on the originally dyed red that has gently aged over time.
Inside, readers will find over 300 pages of Boccaccio’s vivid storytelling framed by clean typography and period-appropriate plates that reflect the style of the early 20th century. While the illustrations are uncredited, they are often attributed by sellers to classic engravers such as Leop. Flameng, and they remain one of the visual highlights of this edition.
