Attractive WWII patriotic cover featuring General Dwight D. Eisenhower in a purple “Diana” cachet, produced by M. J. Huss of Evanston, Illinois. The back flap is hand-annotated “#41 Lithographed by M. J. Huss … 5-43,” positively identifying the maker and month of production. Franked with a pair of 3¢ Franklin D. Roosevelt & White House stamps (Scott #932), totaling 6¢-the correct WWII APO concession airmail rate-and addressed to A.P.O. 729 (Seattle routing) for the 11th Fighter Squadron. An “AIR MAIL” arrow label adds period flair. Lightweight onionskin-style envelope; nice period usage on a sought-after Huss/Diana design.
