Attractive WWII soldier’s free-mail cover postmarked U.S. Army Postal Service APO 986, Dec 15, 1944-a Kiska, Aleutian Islands usage during the late Aleutian Campaign period. Striking multicolor Winston Churchill patriotic label quoting his famous tribute to the RAF (“so much…to so few”), plus a clear boxed “PASSED BY ARMY EXAMINER” censor marking. Addressed to Northampton, Massachusetts, with manuscript soldier’s return and “Free” at upper right (authorized wartime franking).
