Why collectors care
* Foundational 1848 Oregon Territory view from Warre’s renowned London-issued portfolio
* Historic caption “Fort George (Formerly Astoria)” referencing the site’s British/American eras
* 19th-century impression, not a modern reproduction
* Kennedy Galleries documentation enhances provenance and display value
* Scarcer subject that appears only intermittently on the market
Condition (please review all photos)
* Overall age toning with a vertical discoloration band visible in the sky
* Mat burn/toning around the image from earlier mounting; scattered handling/edge wear
* Good color and detail; offered exactly as found, suitable for conservation matting/framing
Notes
Warre’s Oregon plates were sometimes issued two views on one sheet; this is the single-view format of Fort George (Formerly Astoria). The tape-measure photo provides scale; rely on the Kennedy label measurement for the image window. A strong, early Astoria view connecting the fur-trade period to the American settlement era.
