Description
Original real photo postcard (RPPC) with undivided back, postmarked HEMPSTEAD, N.Y., MAY 1 (year not struck, ca. 1903-1907). The image shows a staged tinware/kitchen utensil display used to invite the local Whist Club to “spend the evening of May nineteenth… R.S.V.P.” At left hangs a wall advertising calendar whose artwork depicts a robed, saint-like figure (likely a Franciscan), adding a subtle devotional aspect to the scene-great Long Island social-history content.
