A striking WWII airmail cover from Los Angeles Terminal Annex, AUG 1, 1942, addressed to Sgt. Harry M. Hatfield, APO 819 (Venezuela). Franked 12¢ for the Army concession airmail rate (double weight): 6¢ Transport Plane airmail, Scott C25 + 6¢ John Quincy Adams “Prexie,” Scott 811. Clear “SOLDIER’S MAIL” marking, machine slogan “BUY DEFENSE SAVINGS BONDS AND STAMPS,” and censor tape “Examined by 4397.” Patriotic “God Bless America” label at left adds great eye appeal. Back shows the reseal line from censoring; no cachetmaker imprint found.
