Description
Original set of three gelatin-silver snapshot prints taken in 1948 at “Minden,” Bridgehampton, NY-the John E. Berwind estate-featuring the Beebe Windmill, a formal garden walkway, and a family group. Classic scalloped-edge drugstore processing. Two backs are annotated “Minden – Bridgehampton 1948”; the third is unmarked. These are period prints, not modern copies.
* Set of 3 black-and-white snapshots, each about 3.5″ x 6″
* Subjects: Beebe Windmill on the Minden estate; garden path; family posing on the grounds
* Format: gelatin-silver photos with scalloped borders, consistent with late-1940s processing
* Local history appeal: Bridgehampton / Hamptons / Ocean Road; strong crossover for windmill collectors and Long Island ephemera
* Provenance note: period handwriting on two backs reading “Minden – Bridgehampton 1948” (see photos)
Condition:
Pre-owned vintage snapshots with normal handling from album life. Light surface scuffs and handling lines; one photo shows a corner crease with small paper lift/tear at the tip (see close-up). Tones remain good. Please view all photos for exact condition.
Great addition to any Hamptons or vernacular photography collection-ready to sleeve or frame as a small set.
