Original 1950s direct-mail advertising packet from the Hollywood Models’ Pen Pal Club, 2861 Glendale Boulevard, Los Angeles 39, California. This provocative promotional group marketed pin-up photographs, films, color slides, viewers, and purportedly personal correspondence from the club’s featured models.
The memorable folding brochure opens with the suggestive slogan “Please Peek Inside! Let Us Show You Everything We’ve Got!” Inside are magenta-toned model photographs, playful profiles, period illustrations, and sensational advertising copy promoting women identified as Janie, Paulette, Helena, Shirley, “B.B.,” and others.
