Description
An uncommon crossover First Day Cover: the 4¢ U.S. Flag (Scott #1094) tied by Washington, D.C. July 4, 1957 FIRST DAY OF ISSUE cancel, paired with a WWII-era C. Moss patriotic portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt that’s been neatly pasted to the left panel. The small “3960” at lower left is the Moss publisher’s stock number. This appears to be a privately made paste-on rather than a mass-produced cachet-an eye-catching display piece that links 1940s patriotic art with the 1957 Flag FDI.
