Signed U.S. postal stationery card from former Secretary of War Harry H. Woodring. The government-issued 1¢ Thomas Jefferson indicium (Scott UX27, green) is machine-canceled TOPEKA, KANS., JUL 2, 1945-a historically resonant mid-WWII date for the Kansas politician who served in FDR’s cabinet (1936-1940). The card is unaddressed on the front except for a pencil ID note; the reverse carries Woodring’s bold blue-ink signature.
