Description
Large vintage gelatin-silver photograph showing Lago di Montespluga on the approach to the Splügen Pass (Italy/Swiss border). Across the lake you can make out the hamlet of Montespluga, the torrent dropping to the shore, and-halfway up the left slope-the elongated Casa Cantoniera di Stuetta beside the road’s switchbacks. Blank back; borderless darkroom print on fiber paper. From the look and surface, it is very likely 1930s-1950s.
