An uncommon early real photo postcard documenting the south side of Main Street in Carson, Iowa, looking west. The storefront at left is identified as Palace Pharmacy, with its rooftop sign still faintly visible. The photograph is numbered 3848, likely representing the photographer’s negative or inventory number.
Produced by J. B. Hughes of Strawberry Point, Iowa, this postcard offers an authentic view of Carson’s early commercial district, including its unpaved roadway, brick and wood-frame storefronts, utility poles, and turn-of-the-century streetscape. The reverse features a divided-back KRUXO photographic-paper stamp box, supporting an approximate date of circa 1908-1910.
