Description
Original bifolio (two conjoined pages) removed from Verve: The French Review of Art, No. 5-6 (July-October 1939, Tériade, Paris). The recto presents two brilliant Christian Bérard fashion/costume plates-a full-length lady in a deep blue crinoline against a vivid yellow ground, and a seated woman in a blue evening gown. The verso carries two additional 1939 figure/costume plates in a complementary style; the printed credits on these pages are minimal in this section of Verve, and comparable sheets in the same issue are by Bérard and, at times, André Derain.
