Original 1939 Verve Vol. II, Nos. 5-6 double-sided print. Recto presents André Derain’s color plate commonly titled Woman Peeling Fruit; verso is the Mathew B. Brady section opener with the vignette “The Valhalla of Broadway” and the printed list of photographs that follow in the issue. Period color photogravure/heliogravure as issued (ink on paper), not a modern reprint. Removed from the binding with the inner (gutter) edge and sewing nicks preserved; untrimmed with light, even border toning typical of Verve. Ready to mat and frame.
