Description
Original 1939 photogravure (heliogravure) bifolium from Verve Vol. II, Nos. 5-6 (special double number directed by TĂ©riade). This intact two-leaf spread contains four printed sides: a full-length portrait of Prince Edward (later King Edward VII) credited BRADY (Mathew Brady); a studio portrait titled “Le GĂ©nĂ©ral … et sa femme” by J. J. Mayall; plus “Album D. O. Hill” with three Victorian portraits on one side and four on the reverse. True period ink-on-paper gravures-not modern reproductions. Center fold and inner (gutter) margins preserved with sewing nicks visible. Overall rich tones with light perimeter toning; some background rubs on the Edward VII page as shown. Untrimmed, ready to mat or frame.
